Who? What? Why?

Greetings!

I am Mylah Kate Robinson. I am a second year doctoral student vying for my PhD in Public Affairs from the School of Public & Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

My main focus in my program is centered around nonprofit organizations. What are those? (I'm so glad you asked) Nonprofit Organizations were created to assist communities or causes through services, funds, and other means of assistance like food, clothing, spirituality, housing, supplies, education, etc.. Managing and growing these types of organizations are crucial for the growth and stability of our society and societies across the world. In other countries, these organizations are called Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The purpose of all of these organizations is to help people out in some way.

This is important to me because regardless of who we are and where we are from, at some point we all need a little help. There are a lot of people suffering in the world and through these organizations we can team up to make things better. I would not be the person I am today without my support system. For some people, these organizations are their only support.

Let's Get Artsy!

"Global learning is a form of learning that prepares students to critically analyze and engage with complex global systems, their implications for the lives of individuals, and the sustainability of the earth." -AACU
Through Global Learning, I will assist the Balfour program in spreading global knowledge through artistic mediums. We all play a role in the greater world community. My role fuses advocacy with creative art forms to raise awareness. What will your role be?

Feel free to watch this funny video of my friends and I performing karaoke about global connectedness:
